Day 34: Half-way There—A Personal Milestone in My Journey

Waking up today, I felt energized, refreshed, and ready to take on the world—as always. My new normal” is starting to feel so far beyond my old way of life, and even what I see as “normal” in the world today, it’s getting a bit unbelievable. I guess I never realized just how much potential there was for change — until now.

This morning, I did have a bit of cramping when I first woke up, but it quickly passed once I got out of bed. It’s a reminder that my body needs a little extra magnesium, so I’ll be sure to get some today to keep things running smoothly.

Daily Progress

Here’s how I’m doing today:

3 Feb 2025211.0 (95.7 kg)
4 Feb 2025204.4 (92.7 kg)

Report: I lost 5.6 lbs (3 kg) today.

Total Loss: 30.1 lbs (14.1 kg) in 33 days

Average Loss Per Day: 0.91 lb (0.43 kg)

Today is a big day of progress — 5.6 lbs (3 kg) down! That’s my biggest one-day weight loss so far this year. But let’s be real, I know the number on the scale could go back up tomorrow, especially since I plan to have breakfast today as my one meal. I’ve got work to do, and I need my energy.

But I’m still thrilled that I pushed through the halfway mark so easily—206 lbs (93.4 kg) was a significant milestone for me. At this rate, if everything goes as planned, I should hit my ultimate goal of 176 lbs (80 kg) at about two and a half months into the year. Another 5 weeks of disciplined effort, and I’ll be at a weight I haven’t seen in over 25 years!

I’ve been asking myself why I didn’t do this sooner. The answer is simple: I wasn’t ready to make the changes. But now that I’m here, I’m committed.

Report: My blood pressure went up and down today.

My systolic blood pressure (the first number) dropped by 6.

My diastolic blood pressure (the second number) went up by 1.

My blood pressure is definitely improving. I’m feeling more comfortable with each passing day, and I know that with continued progress on my weight, this will continue to stabilize.

I’ve struggled with my blood pressure for a long time, so to see it steadily drop to these more normal levels gives me a huge sense of relief. I know that as I continue my weight loss, my blood pressure will settle even more — and I’m excited for that.

4 Feb 20253.7

Report: My blood glucose dropped by 0.2 today.

Days within the normal range (3.9–5.6 mmol/L): 28 out of 30

My blood glucose continues to improve — dropping to 3.7 mmol/L. A small dip, but I’m not too concerned since it’s just below the normal range.

It’s incredible to think how far I’ve come since the beginning of this year, especially since I’ve been used to the Standard American Diet (SAD Diet) for so long. But now, those high-carb, processed foods that used to spike my blood sugar are no longer part of the equation, and I’m feeling much more balanced.

Exercise

Today, I walked more than 2,000 steps. It’s still a bit on the lower side, but considering how much time I spent working indoors today, I’m happy with that number. I’m aiming for more movement soon, but even small steps are progress.

Happy to be Feeling So Alive

It’s much easier to avoid temptation when I finish work so late, and by letting my body rest from digestion for more than 23 hours a day, I give it ample time to reset and do its natural housekeeping. I’m not pushing myself too hard, but rather, I’m listening to what my body needs and going with the flow.

I’ll keep tracking everything closely — and when I step on the scale tomorrow, I’ll adjust based on where I am. For now, I’m letting this process unfold in its own time, with a solid foundation of discipline and self-care.

Thanks for following along with me on this journey. The support I feel from everyone is incredible, and I hope you’re finding inspiration in these updates to fuel your own goals.

See you tomorrow! 😊

Warmly,
Paul
