Considering I broke the diet last night, I woke up feeling pretty spectacular.
I’m sure the 4 hours of sleep will catch up with me later, but for now, I feel great.
I only got 4 hours of sleep because I stayed up until 3 am organizing my notes for my job, and I had to wake up by 7 am to be there on time.
Normally, you can’t do that the day after breaking the diet, but I’ll see how the rest of the day goes and decide if it’s something I should repeat.
Daily Progress
Here’s how I’m doing today:

Total Loss: 31.8 lbs (14.4 kg) in 46 days
Average Loss Per Day: 0.69 lbs (0.31 kg)
This is the first time I’ve lost weight after breaking my Carnivore Diet!
I’m guessing it’s because I had just a bit of crumbing on the chicken and two pieces of roast pumpkin, and I didn’t have much of either. Whatever it was, I’m happy for it because now I know there’s still a lot more to discover about this diet and OMAD (One Meal A Day).
Blood Pressure (BP)
Date | BP – Before Food (Best of 3) | BP – Before Food (Worst of 3) | Average |
BP Goal | 120/80 | ||
2 Jan 25 – Day 1 | 155/103 | 166/102 | 160.5/102.5 |
31 Jan 25 – Mth 1 | 125/81 | 129/84 | 127/82.5 |
6 Feb 25 – Week 5 | 124.5/78.5 | 153/100 | 148/96 |
13 Feb 25 – Week 6 | 121/81 | 138/75 | 129.5/78 |
14 Feb 2025 | 138/87 | 145/94 | 141.5/90.5 |
15 Feb 2025 | 128/81 | 137/88 | 132.5/84.5 |
16 Feb 2025 | 127/87 | 132/84 | 129.5/85.5 |
17 Feb 2025 | 148/86 | 154/91 | 151/88.5 |
Report: My blood pressure is up and down today.
My systolic blood pressure (the first number) went up by 22.
My diastolic blood pressure (the second number) went up by 3.
I assume the carbs caused the spike in my blood pressure, but if it doesn’t start going down on its own, I’ll consider using medication tomorrow.
Blood Glucose
Date | Blood Glucose – Before Food (mmol/L) |
Blood Glucose Goal | 4.2 |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 7.2 |
31 Jan 2025 – Month 1 | 4.4 |
6 Feb 2025 – Week 5 | 4.7 |
13 Feb 2025 – Week 6 | 5.1 |
14 Feb 2025 | 5.2 |
15 Feb 2025 | 5.1 |
16 Feb 2025 | 4.7 |
17 Feb 2025 | 4.7 |
Report: My blood glucose stayed the same.
Days within the normal range (3.9–5.6 mmol/L): 43 days out of 46 days.
It’s nice to see my blood glucose unaffected by the carbs I had. Diabetes was probably the main reason I decided to stick with this diet for longer, and it’s definitely paying off.
Hopefully, when this experiment is over, I’ll be able to eat a more balanced diet without my blood sugar spiking all over the place.
The Surprises of Experimentation
Though breaking the diet may seem risky, I’ve learned that experimenting with my routine has brought me very valuable insights into how my body reacts. I discover new ways to improve and grow almost every day, and it’s exciting!
See you tomorrow! 😊
Warmly,
Paul
