Day 51 – A Carnivore Diet Cheat Day

As I wake up this morning, after just a little over four hours of sleep, I feel surprisingly fantastic. Sure, I could probably use a bit more rest, but the energy I’ve been getting from this Carnivore Diet is unmatched.

It’s like I’ve tapped into a new level of vitality that I didn’t even know was possible—especially at 64! If anything, it’s proof that the body can thrive with less sleep than the standard recommendation, especially when you’re feeding it the right fuel.

I’ve also realized something amazing: my productivity at this early stage of the year is already nearing what I achieved for the entire year last year. That’s not just a little boost—that’s a game-changer.

And it’s all thanks to the clarity and energy I’ve gained through this diet. I’m committed to seeing it through until I hit my goal weight of 176 lbs (80kg), and to see how much further this energy can take me in other areas of life, including my personal and professional ambitions.

Daily Progress

Here’s how I’m doing today:

Weight Loss

DateWeight (lbs)
Weight Goal176.0 (80.0 kg)
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1235.5 (106.8 kg)
31 Jan 2025 – Month 1209.4 (95.0 kg)
6 Feb 2025 – Week 5204.4 (92.7 kg)
13 Feb 2025 – Week 6205.0 (93.0 kg)
20 Feb 2025 – Week 7202.2 (91.7 kg)
21 Feb 2025203.1 (92.1 kg)

Report: I gained 0.9 lbs (0.4 kg) today.

Total Loss: 32.4 lbs (14.7 kg) in 50 days.

Average Loss Per Day: 0.65 lbs (0.29 kg).

As you can see, I’ve gained a small amount (0.4 kg/0.9 lbs) today, which I believe is related to some natural fluctuations in my body as I prepare for a family get-together where I’ll be temporarily deviating from the diet.

It’s all part of the experiment—I’m curious to see how my body responds to a few days of deviation from the strict regimen, especially when it comes to my weight. Time will tell whether I return to the kind of rapid weight loss I saw at the beginning of this journey.

Report: My blood pressure is up and down today.

My systolic blood pressure (the first number) increased by 9.5.

My diastolic blood pressure (the second number) is down by 0.5.

My blood pressure has fluctuated a bit today, which I’ll keep an eye on, but with my upcoming family event involving a brief return to a higher-carb intake, I’ll ride this out and assess things after my two-day SAD (Standard American Diet) phase. If things don’t improve, I’ll consider my options, including medication.

Blood Glucose

21 Feb 20254.7

Report: My blood glucose dropped by 0.2.

Days within the normal range (3.9–5.6 mmol/L): 47 days out of 50 days.

I’m very happy that my blood glucose has remained consistently low, especially after having struggled with high blood sugar for so long. I’m seeing such positive results from this Carnivore approach, and it reinforces my belief that the body is capable of remarkable things when given the right fuel.

Learning Days Ahead

Today was a breakthrough for me—both at work and in my personal journey. I had more energy than I’ve felt in a long time. I was able to move through tasks quickly and efficiently, finally getting through the learning phase that had slowed me down at the beginning of this new job. It felt amazing to have that burst of productivity, and I can honestly say that I haven’t had a day like this in ages.

But then came my family get-together, and things took a different turn than normal, in terms of eating. I had a wonderful time with friends and family, enjoying a feast together.

I made one conscious decision for myself: No alcohol. I’m proud of that choice, even though I did indulge in a few sugary drinks.

And I did have my fair share of cake and biscuits—definitely not the healthiest choice. I did stick to my one meal for the day, but instead of my usual quick 15-20 minute sitting, this one lasted two hours.

Now, as I reflect, I know the next few days will be a little different as my body processes these carbs I’ve introduced back into my diet. It’s all part of the journey, though.

I’m committed to remaining open and learning from every step of this process. I’ll continue to share what works for me and what doesn’t, and I encourage you to use what works best for you for your own path.

This journey isn’t just about weight loss or diet—it’s about transformation. So, I’m embracing the good, the challenges, and everything in between.

Thanks for following along!

I appreciate all of you who’ve been with me on this journey so far. I hope my reflections and progress can inspire you as you take on your own personal goals, whatever they may be.

See you tomorrow! 😊

Warmly,
Paul
