Day 19: Enjoying the Journey, No Matter the Pace

Day 19 of my Carnivore Diet journey, and while my weight isn’t shifting as quickly as I’d like, my mood and energy levels are at an all-time high. In fact, despite only getting 5.5 hours of sleep last night, I felt great today. I have energy to burn, and I’m feeling more confident and positive than ever.

When I started this journey, I had a clear goal in mind: reaching 176 lbs (80 kg).

But, if I’m being honest, it’s the way I feel that’s truly motivating me to stick with it. I feel lighter—not just in body, but in mind too. My body feels flexible and pain-free, and there’s a sense of confidence in how I carry myself. The scales might not always show immediate results, but this clarity and energy I’m experiencing is worth every effort.

So today, the weight might not have budged, but I’m sticking with the plan because I feel amazing. Whether it takes weeks or months, I know I’ll get to my goal. It’s not just about the destination; it’s about how much better I feel along the way.

Report: No change today, but I’ve lost 16.6 lbs (7.5 kg) in 18 days. That’s an average of about 0.92 lbs (0.42 kg) per day.

A younger me would have found these slowdowns frustrating. Now I see them as part of the process. I believe in the Carnivore Diet and Intermittent Fasting (IF).

My body’s adjusting, and I trust it to continue to work its magic.

The first number, which shows the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats, is up by 31.5!

Diastolic blood pressure

The second number, which measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart rests between beats, is up by 11.5!

I’ve been wondering if I should switch to taking my medication every other day. I’ve read that daily use can prevent the body from detoxing, so it’s something I want to explore with my doctor. I’ll take my medication today and see if it changes things tomorrow.

Reflections

As I continue on this journey, the physical changes are only part of the story.

Yes, I’m losing weight, but more importantly, I’m feeling healthier than I have in years. The energy, the clarity, the mental sharpness—these are the things that matter most to me.

I’m 64 years old, and I’ve lived enough to know that it’s not just about the number on the scale. It’s about how we feel and how we’re able to live the lives we want.

So, even though today didn’t bring the big weight loss I was hoping for, I’m feeling good. The discipline, the structure, the perseverance—it all matters. And I’m staying committed, no matter how long it takes to hit my goal.

See you tomorrow! 😊

Warmly,
Paul
