This morning, I woke up feeling really comfortable in my own skin and noticed that I felt thinner. The scale confirmed that feeling.
It’s amazing how, at the beginning of the day, everything feels fresh and full of hope, which hasn’t always been the case for me lately. It’s tough to stay positive when you’re dealing with constant, body-wide inflammation and pain.
Do you remember that feeling from when you were young—when you stretch, everything feels great, and you feel full of life, like a coiled spring uncoiling? You know, that pure energy that seems to be a part of you, much like a black panther might feel all of the time. That feeling is starting to return to me. I’m truly falling in love with the Carnivore Diet all over again. And now that I’ve combined it with OMAD (One Meal A Day), I’m noticing the benefits even more, and that vibrant feeling is coming back!
Today is my first real day off (from work) in over two weeks. Instead of doing OMAD, I’m opting for NoMAD (No Meals A Day) fasting today, because I can.
There’s no work, just time to do whatever I choose. I’ll be fasting for 48 hours, just like our ancestors did—eating only after hunting or gathering food.
Our bodies weren’t meant to eat all day, every day. Now, in modern times, we’re eating ourselves to death, instead of starving to death!
Daily Progress
Here’s how things are going today:
Weight Loss
| Date | Weight (lbs) |
| Weight Goal | 176.0 (80.0 kg) |
| 2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 235.5 (106.8 kg) |
| 9 Jan 2025 – Week 1 | 224.6 (101.9 kg) |
| 16 Jan 2025 – Week 2 | 217.4 (98.6 kg) |

| 20 Jan 2025 | 218.9 (99.3 kg) |
| 21 Jan 2025 | 216.9 (98.4 kg) |
Report: I lost 2 lbs (0.9 kg) today.
This brings my total weight loss to 18.6 lbs (8.4 kg) in 19 days.
That’s an average of about 0.98 lbs (0.44 kg) per day.
It feels good to see the weight loss starting again. Now that I’ve settled into the Carnivore Diet combined with OMAD, I expect the weight loss to become more consistent moving forward.
As I mentioned yesterday, I’m not stressing about whether the weight loss is up, down, or sideways. I’m focusing on being persistent and consistent, letting my body handle the rest.
Blood Pressure (BP)
| Date | BP – Before Food (Best of 3) | BP – Before Food (Worst of 3) | Average |

| 21 Jan 2025 | 126/78 | 137/88 | 131.5/83 |
Report: My blood pressure dropped today.
Systolic blood pressure
The first number, which shows the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats, dropped by 14!
Diastolic blood pressure
The second number, which measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart rests between beats, is dropped by 3.
Medications
I didn’t take my medications today because I’m fasting and need to take them with food.
I added a “Medications” section today for transparency. I want to be open with you about the fact that I take medications to help manage my blood pressure.
I took my medications three days ago and again yesterday, and I’ll take them again tomorrow. I believe weight and blood pressure are closely connected.
In my opinion, the high blood pressure epidemic in the West is tied to the obesity epidemic. But I’m not a doctor, so take that as just my personal perspective.
I expect my blood pressure to normalize as I continue my weight loss journey and reach my goal weight. At that point, I hope I won’t need medications to keep my blood pressure stable. But for now, I’m willing to take them if it helps, especially since the work I’m doing requires it.
Blood Glucose
| Date | Blood Glucose – Before Food (mmol/L) |
| Blood Glucose Goal | 4.2 |
| 2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 7.2 |
| 9 Jan 2025 – Week 1 | 4.6 |
| 16 Jan 2025 – Week 2 | 4.1 |
| 17 Jan 2025 | 4.0 |
| 18 Jan 2025 | 4.2 |
| 19 Jan 2025 | 5.9 |
| 20 Jan 2025 | 4.9 |
| 21 Jan 2025 | 4.7 |
Report: My blood glucose decreased by 0.2 today.
My blood glucose is now in the normal range (3.9 to 5.6 mmol/L) again.
As long as it stays in this range, I no longer consider myself diabetic. I love how effortless it has been to manage my glucose levels.
More Reflections
Today is the first day that all my measurements—weight, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and blood glucose—have gone down on the same day. It’s taken almost three weeks, but my body is finally in sync with my goals. It’s an exciting moment, and I’m feeling great.
I’ll keep pushing forward, trusting the process, and staying disciplined.
See you tomorrow! 😊
Warmly,
Paul
