Just over 6 hours of sleep and I’m feeling ready to take on the day! The Carnivore Diet has truly kicked me into overdrive mode, and I’m loving it.
Now that I’m focusing on the three key measurements that matter most for me—weight, blood pressure, and blood glucose—I’m diving deeper into ways to reduce them even more. This means doing research on different strategies to complement my diet and my eating style (OMAD or One Meal A Day).
This morning, I tried a breathing technique recommended by James Nestor in the video below, to lower my blood pressure within 2 minutes. The results were mixed, but I’m optimistic.
It’s early days, and I’m familiar with breath-work techniques—Chi Breathing, to be specific, from my younger years. So, this new challenge is something I’m excited to experiment with.
Daily Progress
Here’s how things are going today:
Weight Loss
Date | Weight (lbs) |
Weight Goal | 176.0 (80.0 kg) |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 235.5 (106.8 kg) |
9 Jan 2025 – Week 1 | 224.6 (101.9 kg) |
16 Jan 2025 – Week 2 | 217.4 (98.6 kg) |
17 Jan 2025 | 216.7 (98.3 kg) |
18 Jan 2025 | 216.5 (98.2 kg) |
19 Jan 2025 | 218.9 (99.3 kg) |
20 Jan 2025 | 218.9 (99.3 kg) |
21 Jan 2025 | 216.9 (98.4 kg) |
22 Jan 2025 | 216.0 (98.0 kg) |
Report: I lost 0.9 lbs (0.4 kg).
This brings my total weight loss to 19.5 lbs (8.8 kg) in 20 days.
That’s an average of about 0.98 lbs (0.44 kg) per day.
It’s a great feeling to see the scale go down, even if just a little. I’ll say it doesn’t matter to me anymore, but of course, it does. When you pour your heart into something, you want to see results, even small ones.
I’ve been experimenting with NoMAD (No Meals A Day) fasting, which should yield results, but the inconsistency lately has me questioning its effectiveness.
Still, no matter what, low weight losses or gains won’t stop me from hitting my goal weight of 176.4 lbs (80 kg). So, whether it goes up, down, or sideways, I’m not letting it derail me.
Feeling this kind of determination again is incredible. It’s been a while, and I’ve missed it. I feel like I’ve been in sleep mode for almost a decade and I’m finally waking up!
There aren’t many things that can ignite that fire in me, but the Carnivore Diet is one of them. I’d be a fool to stop before I’ve gotten every bit of gain I can from it.
Blood Pressure (BP)
Date | BP – Before Food (Best of 3) | BP – Before Food (Worst of 3) | Average |

18 Jan 2025 | 153/89 | 164/96 | 157.5/92.5 |

22 Jan 2025 | 125/80 | 130/77 | 127.5/78.5 |
Report: My blood pressure dropped today.
Systolic blood pressure (the first number) went down by 4.
Diastolic blood pressure (the second number) went down by 5.5.
Medications
I took my medications today, even though my numbers suggest I might not need them, because I’m working today and need to keep my levels normal. I’ll try adjusting my meds more when I’m working on my own schedule.
I do wonder though, what the people I’m working with will think if my blood pressure drops too low?
Blood Glucose
Date | Blood Glucose – Before Food (mmol/L) |
Blood Glucose Goal | 4.2 |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 7.2 |
9 Jan 2025 – Week 1 | 4.6 |
16 Jan 2025 – Week 2 | 4.1 |
17 Jan 2025 | 4.0 |
18 Jan 2025 | 4.2 |
19 Jan 2025 | 5.9 |
20 Jan 2025 | 4.9 |
21 Jan 2025 | 4.7 |
22 Jan 2025 | 4.1 |
Report: My blood glucose dropped by 0.6 today.
It’s now consistently in the normal range (3.9 to 5.6 mmol/L) now. This is exactly where I want it to be, and I didn’t have to do much, except cut out carbs completely. That’s been a huge win for me!
Still More Reflections
This is the second day in a row that all my measurements—weight, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and blood glucose—have gone down on the same day. It’s great to see my body responding to my efforts.
I’m excited, staying focused, and trusting the process.
See you tomorrow! 😊
Warmly,
Paul
