Today was a bit different—I didn’t lose any weight overnight, but I’m feeling great. My blood pressure and glucose levels have reached their targets, and now the final goal is my target weight. And that’s just a matter of time and effort.
The beauty of the Carnivore Diet combined with OMAD (One Meal A Day) is that the discipline required is almost non-existent once I’ve been doing it for a while. The hunger pains disappear, and there are days when I almost have to remind myself to eat.
Sometimes, when my body isn’t really craving food and I’m not working that day, I’ll opt for NoMAD (No Meals A Day) fasting. It’s a unique experience, but it works for me.
The real challenge here isn’t hunger, though—it’s boredom. Let’s face it. The Carnivore Diet could easily be considered one of the most boring diets out there. If you’re in love with bacon and eggs, steak and prawns, it’s wonderful—but when those are your main options for months on end, even the most passionate love for these foods can wear thin. That’s where emotional resilience comes in.
The willingness to push through, even when it’s hard, becomes my greatest tool. It’s all about doing what I need to do, regardless of how I feel about it. And with each day, I move closer to my goal.
Daily Progress
Here’s how I’m doing today:
Weight Loss
Date | Weight (lbs) |
Weight Goal | 176.0 (80.0 kg) |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 235.5 (106.8 kg) |
9 Jan 2025 – Week 1 | 224.6 (101.9 kg) |
16 Jan 2025 – Week 2 | 217.4 (98.6 kg) |
23 Jan 2025 – Week 3 | 213.9 (97.0 kg) |
24 Jan 2025 | 213.9 (97.0 kg) |
Report: I lost 0 lbs (0 kg) today.
That brings my total to 21.6 lbs (9.8 kg) in 22 days.
That’s an average of just under 1 lb (0.47 kg) per day.
I didn’t lose any weight today, which means no big news to report. So, another day of OMAD, and we’ll see how things go tomorrow.
Blood Pressure (BP)
Date | BP – Before Food (Best of 3) | BP – Before Food (Worst of 3) | Average |
BP Goal | 120/80 | ||
2 Jan 25 – Day 1 | 155/103 | 166/102 | 160.5/102.5 |
9 Jan 25 – Week 1 | 159/108 | 162/98 | 160.5/103 |
16 Jan 25 – Week 2 | 132/83 | 135/87 | 133.5/85 |
23 Jan 25 – Week 3 | 110/69 | 118/72 | 114/70.5 |
24 Jan 2025 | 121/76 | 123/76 | 122/76 |
Report: My blood pressure went up today.
The systolic blood pressure (the first number) went up by 8.
The diastolic blood pressure (the second number) went down by 6.
My blood pressure went up a bit today, but nothing too drastic.
These numbers are still very close to my target of 120/80, so there’s little I need to do except maintain my current habits.
Medications
I’m not taking any medication today, as the numbers are already close to ideal. At this point, introducing medication would be like using a sledgehammer to crack walnuts!
Blood Glucose
Date | Blood Glucose – Before Food (mmol/L) |
Blood Glucose Goal | 4.2 |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 7.2 |
9 Jan 2025 – Week 1 | 4.6 |
16 Jan 2025 – Week 2 | 4.1 |
23 Jan 2025 – Week 3 | 3.9 |
24 Jan 2025 | 4.3 |
Report: My blood glucose went up by 0.4 today.
This is within the normal range for blood glucose, and hovering around my goal of 4.2, which makes me very happy. If I can keep it within this range, I expect to manage my insulin resistance completely. And that my friends, will be a great day!
The Power of Consistency: Progress Beyond the Numbers
What’s striking to me today is how much progress I’ve made in these 23 days. It’s not just about the numbers on the scale, or the readings on my blood pressure machine, or glucose monitor.
It’s about consistency, resilience, and doing what it takes to reach the goals I’ve set for myself. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day, but when I take a step back, I can see how far I’ve come, and that’s great to see.
So, here’s to another day of doing what works.
Keep showing up, doing the work, and getting closer to my goal. One step at a time.
See you tomorrow! 😊
Warmly,
Paul
