I woke up today feeling great with just six hours and forty-five minutes of sleep. It’s amazing to me because pre-Carnivore Diet, I’d need 8-9 hours just to get up and feel like I could face the day.
And even then, I’d need a two-hour afternoon nap just to make it through the evening. I would wake up feeling tired, sore, and sluggish. Now, just under seven hours of sleep and I’m feeling as fresh as a daisy. This alone is a huge win.
Not only am I waking up feeling more rested, but I’m also able to stay awake and alert all day without feeling the urge to nap. This is a game changer!
I get so much more done now. In the past 24 days, I’ve averaged just under 6 hours and 50 minutes of sleep a night. If you do the math, that’s an extra 72 hours of productivity in just 3.5 weeks—equivalent to nine full 8-hour days!
Imagine the competitive edge you’d have if you gained that much extra productive time each year!
At this same rate, that’s an extra twenty sets of 40-hour weeks per year!!! A greater than 40% increase in production from a single dietary action! Let’s consider the quality of that productivity as well. I feel more focused than ever—no brain fog, no feeling sluggish.
My energy levels are through the roof, and I’m more motivated than ever to get things done. I’m also less interested in entertainment or mindless activities. I’ve found that I don’t need distractions like I used to. I’m more engaged, more alive, and more present in my own life.
Daily Progress
Here’s how I’m doing today:
Weight Loss
Date | Weight (lbs) |
Weight Goal | 176.0 (80.0 kg) |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 235.5 (106.8 kg) |
9 Jan 2025 – Week 1 | 224.6 (101.9 kg) |
16 Jan 2025 – Week 2 | 217.4 (98.6 kg) |

30 Jan 2025 – Week 4 | 209.4 (95.0 kg) |
31 Jan 2025 | 209.4 (95.0 kg) |
Report: I lost 0 lbs (0 kg) today.
This brings my total to 26.1 lbs (11.8 kg) in 29 days.
That’s an average of about 0.93 lb (0.42 kg) per day.
Today, my weight hasn’t budged. No gain, no loss, and while that’s a little frustrating, I’m still feeling great. My energy is higher, my mood is up, and my body feels stronger. Even though the scale hasn’t moved today, I’m still super-happy with how I feel.
It’s been a little up and down with my weight lately, and I’ve plateaued again. But, honestly, I don’t care. The progress I’ve made has been incredible, and I’m not concerned with how long this takes anymore. In fact, I’m enjoying the journey so much that I’m not even craving the Standard American Diet (SAD) anymore. I used to crave sugary treats, the ones that gave me that instant “reward” feeling, but now I’m free of that emotional conditioning, and it feels amazing.
I’m meeting my son for lunch today, so I’ll be breaking the diet then to see if that jumpstarts the weight loss again. Let’s see if it works.
Blood Pressure (BP)
Date | BP – Before Food (Best of 3) | BP – Before Food (Worst of 3) | Average |
BP Goal | 120/80 | ||
2 Jan 25 – Day 1 | 155/103 | 166/102 | 160.5/102.5 |
9 Jan 25 – Week 1 | 159/108 | 162/98 | 160.5/103 |
16 Jan 25 – Week 2 | 132/83 | 135/87 | 133.5/85 |
23 Jan 25 – Week 3 | 110/69 | 118/72 | 114/70.5 |
30 Jan 2025 – Week 4 | 117/81 | 121/80 | 119/80.5 |
31 Jan 2025 | 125/81 | 129/84 | 127/82.5 |
Report: My blood pressure went up and down today.
My systolic blood pressure (the first number) went up by 8.
My diastolic blood pressure (the second number) went up by 2.
My blood pressure has been all over the place today. While the jump in blood pressure is not good, it’s not concerning enough to warrant medication, I’m curious to see how breaking my diet today affects these numbers tomorrow. I’ll see tomorrow if the break spikes them up.
Blood Glucose
Date | Blood Glucose – Before Food (mmol/L) |
Blood Glucose Goal | 4.2 |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 7.2 |
9 Jan 2025 – Week 1 | 4.6 |
16 Jan 2025 – Week 2 | 4.1 |
23 Jan 2025 – Week 3 | 3.9 |
30 Jan 2025 – Week 4 | 4.2 |
31 Jan 2025 | 4.4 |
Report: My blood glucose went up by 0.2 today.
It’s now been within the normal range (3.9–5.6 mmol/L) for 25 out of the last 26 days.
My blood glucose increased slightly, but it’s still well within the normal range (3.9–5.6 mmol/L). The one thing I’ve noticed is that whenever I break my Carnivore Diet, my glucose tends to spike, and that makes my average look a little worse. But I’m not too worried about it right now. I’m happy with my overall progress, and my blood glucose has been normal for 25 out of the past 26 days.
Exercise
Today, I walked over 7,000 steps, and it feels amazing. Accountability really has a big impact for me. Having someone or something to answer to makes me push myself further. It also helps with my diet—when I say I’m doing One Meal A Day, I stick to it. The habit of late-night snacking is gone, and that has made a huge difference in my overall progress.
What’s Next?
Last time I broke my diet a few weeks ago, it was horrible. I had a lot of inflammation and it hurt; a lot. I believe it was from the two slices of cake I had last time.
This time I didn’t eat any sugar, apart from what may have been in a yogurt sauce. So, it was much better. And now I know what to do whenever I have to go through this in the future—don’t eat any sugar at all!
I’ll have to create a monthly recap. We’ll see how that goes tomorrow.
See you then! 😊
Warmly,
Paul
