Day 42 – Fail, Learn, Get Back On Track

Yesterday, I must have eaten something with sugar because I woke up feeling a tired. Not as bad as when I was on the Standard American Diet (SAD), but still, I didn’t feel as crisp and alert as my new normal. After only almost 6 hours of sleep, I knew something felt off.

It was probably the Italian salami I had with dinner. It was the only thing that was different. So, this morning I tossed the rest of it out to prevent any further slip-ups.

I know I shouldn’t eat soft cheese if I want to be a Carnivore Diet purist. But, sometimes, I make a few compromises to make this strict eating plan sustainable. At least, that’s what I tell myself when I’m tempted.

The best results I’ve ever had on this diet are when I stick strictly to basics:

  • Meats
  • Eggs
  • Hard cheeses

Just those, every day, without any extras.

Daily Progress

Here’s how I’m doing today:

Weight Loss

31 Jan 2025 – Month 1209.4 (95.0 kg)
6 Feb 2025 – Week 5204.4 (92.7 kg)
7 Feb 2025206.4 (93.6 kg)
8 Feb 2025204.2 (92.6 kg)
9 Feb 2025207.5 (94.1 kg)
10 Feb 2025210.3 (95.4 kg)
11 Feb 2025205.0 (93.0 kg)
12 Feb 2025206.4 (93.6 kg)

Report: I gained 1.4 lbs (0.6 kg) today.

Total Loss: 29.1 lbs (13.2 kg) in 41 days

Average Loss Per Day: 0.71 lbs (0.32 kg)

So, the scales didn’t lie yesterday. My weight gain was the result of the sugar content in the almost 70 grams of Italian salami I ate.

But no worries—I’m straight back on track with my COMAD (Carnivore + One Meal A Day) routine. I hope to be back on track with my weight goals tomorrow.

Report: My blood pressure dropped a lot today.

My systolic blood pressure (the first number) dropped by 10.5.

My diastolic blood pressure (the second number) dropped by 6.5.

These numbers are exactly where I want them to be, as I work to bring my blood pressure back to normal. Once I reach my goal weight, I’m confident these numbers will stabilize in the normal range.

12 Feb 20255.3

Report: My blood glucose went up by 0.3.

Days within the normal range (3.9–5.6 mmol/L): 38 days out of 41 days.

I’d prefer to stay in the low 4.0’s, but I’m happy with where my numbers are. I haven’t had a pre-diabetic reading (above 5.6) in the last 3 days, so I’m feeling good about my progress!

Just Have To Keep On ‘Keeping On’

The most important thing, in my mind, is to keep moving forward. Every day is a new chance to get closer to where I want to be. No matter how slow the progress may seem, as long as I keep taking steps, I’m heading in the right direction.

I try to remember, every small step counts. Even the tough days have value because they teach me something.

So, I’ll stay focused on the bigger picture. Each challenge is just another opportunity to grow and become stronger. The only way to succeed is to keep moving forward with patience and trust that each day brings me closer to my goals.

See you tomorrow! 😊

Warmly,
Paul
