Wow! For the first time in a long time, I’m really feeling what a Friday is supposed to feel like.
I’ve been semi-retired for nearly a decade now, and how that was possible is a story longer than I can share here. But, suffice to say, I’m thrilled to be back in full-time (well, sort of) work. It feels incredible to have somewhere meaningful to go every day of the working week again.
Daily Progress
Here’s how I’m doing today:
Weight Loss
Date | Weight (lbs) |
Weight Goal | 176.0 (80.0 kg) |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 235.5 (106.8 kg) |
31 Jan 2025 – Month 1 | 209.4 (95.0 kg) |
6 Feb 2025 – Week 5 | 204.4 (92.7 kg) |
13 Feb 2025 – Week 6 | 205.0 (93.0 kg) |
14 Feb 2025 | 204.0 (92.5 kg) |
Report: I dropped 1 lb (0.5 kg) today.
Total Loss: 31.5 lbs (14.3 kg) in 43 days
Average Loss Per Day: 0.74 lbs (0.33 kg)
It feels like I’ve just broken through a barrier in my weight loss journey. 204.0 lbs (92.5 kg) is the lowest weight I’ve recorded in over 14 years! As you can imagine, this is a massive day for me!
My COMAD (Carnivore + One Meal A Day) plan is working, and it’s proof that consistency is really paying off.
Blood Pressure (BP)
Date | BP – Before Food (Best of 3) | BP – Before Food (Worst of 3) | Average |
BP Goal | 120/80 | ||
2 Jan 25 – Day 1 | 155/103 | 166/102 | 160.5/102.5 |
31 Jan 25 – Mth 1 | 125/81 | 129/84 | 127/82.5 |
6 Feb 25 – Week 5 | 124.5/78.5 | 153/100 | 148/96 |
13 Feb 25 – Week 6 | 121/81 | 138/75 | 129.5/78 |
14 Feb 2025 | 138/87 | 145/94 | 141.5/90.5 |
Report: My blood pressure is up today.
My systolic blood pressure (the first number) went up by 11.5.
My diastolic blood pressure (the second number) dropped by 12.5.
These fluctuations don’t concern me anymore. I’ve experienced what “low blood pressure” looks like. I’m learning to not panic over these small changes, unless they stay high. In that case, I might consider medications to bring it down, but for now, one day of fluctuation is nothing to worry about.
I don’t expect my blood pressure to return to the dangerously high levels of 180+ that I had for over two months, when I was 62 years old. If I managed that, I’m confident this small rise is nothing.
That said, always listen to your body and work with your doctor – this is just my personal journey.
Blood Glucose
Date | Blood Glucose – Before Food (mmol/L) |
Blood Glucose Goal | 4.2 |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 7.2 |
31 Jan 2025 – Month 1 | 4.4 |
6 Feb 2025 – Week 5 | 4.7 |
13 Feb 2025 – Week 6 | 5.1 |
14 Feb 2025 | 5.2 |
Report: My blood glucose went up by 0.1.
Days within the normal range (3.9–5.6 mmol/L): 40 days out of 43 days.
I’m definitely pleased that my blood glucose is staying within the normal range, and that’s something to be happy about!
Enjoying the Weekend: A Well-Earned Break
It was another massive day at work today. I’m finally able to feel what a weekend feels like again, and that brings a sense of relief.
As the weekend draws near, I realize that I’m also about to experience that familiar feeling of a Sunday night approaching, with Monday looming just around the corner.
It’s funny how time feels both slow and fast—especially when you’re balancing hard work with the anticipation of a well-deserved rest. I’ve learned to appreciate these moments, both the busy ones and the quiet ones, because they all help me grow in many ways.
For me it’s about finding balance and embracing both the challenges and the rewards. And that’s something I’m learning to appreciate more and more with each passing day.
See you tomorrow! 😊
Warmly,
Paul
