Day 45 – Easy Consistency: Moving into a Routine

Today, I woke up feeling a bit “meh.” Not bad, but not spectacular either. It’s one of those days where I’m just going through the motions.

Of course, from a philosophical standpoint, I have no right to feel this way.

I live in Sydney, Australia, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I have a good job, and my health is pretty solid. So what exactly do I have to feel “meh” about? I get it.

But as I’m writing this, just acknowledging my “meh” mood, I suddenly smiled. Then I laughed. It worked! So, just like that, my “meh” mood is gone.

When you’re in a bad, or sad mood, doing the opposite of what your mood is asking for can help shift your mindset in ways you wouldn’t expect.

If you’re feeling down, bring your head up and try laughing out loud, even if it’s forced. Fake it until you make it, as they say.

Daily Progress

Here’s how I’m doing today:

Weight Loss

Report: I put on 0.4 lb (0.2 kg) today.

Total Loss: 31.1 lbs (14.1 kg) in 44 days

Average Loss Per Day: 0.71 lbs (0.32 kg)

Just like with my mood, today’s weight loss was a bit of a “meh” day. I went through the motions, hoping for some progress tomorrow. That’s all I can do for now—follow the formula and trust that COMAD (Carnivore + One Meal A Day) will work its magic. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring some positive changes!

Report: My blood pressure is down today.

My systolic blood pressure (the first number) dropped by 9.

My diastolic blood pressure (the second number) dropped by 6.

Nice! Anything under 140/90 is great for now. I’m considering this a safe range, though I’ll keep working to bring it down to 120/80 or below, once I’ve reached my goal weight.

I think I’ve realized why I’m feeling a bit “middle-of-the-road” today.

There’s not much excitement in this section of my weight loss journey. It’s just consistently successful now that I’ve found a routine that works for me. The formula is simple: follow COMAD and let the results come in.

It’s like making a long-term investment. At first, it’s exciting—riding the ups and downs, experiencing those initial wins and losses. But once you’ve mastered it, it all starts to feel a bit repetitive. Same inputs = same results. Boring, right?

But, honestly, that’s the beauty of consistency. When it feels effortless, you know you’ve found something that works.

Out of the Slump

I know that sometimes, the everyday routine can feel like a bit of a drag, and I don’t want to bore you with too much detail. But instead of letting myself get stuck in a slump, I decided to shake things up a bit. I went out and had an amazing Saturday—just to remind myself that life doesn’t always have to be about the grind. It’s important to step away from the routine and find joy in the little things.

Now I’m feeling fresh and excited again; all part of the journey—sometimes we need to take a break, even if it’s just for a day, to keep moving forward.

See you tomorrow! 😊

Warmly,
Paul
