After stepping off the diet last night, I was surprised to wake up feeling good, with no aches or discomfort.
I did need more sleep than usual—over 8 hours last night. Despite that, I could tell my productivity had taken a hit. Needing that extra 3 hours of sleep meant I felt less energetic and less motivated.
That said, I don’t feel bad. I’m just not as sharp and energetic as I was yesterday morning. It’s a reminder that breaking the diet can have some consequences, but it doesn’t have to derail everything.
Daily Progress
Here’s how I’m doing today:
Weight Loss
Date | Weight (lbs) |
Weight Goal | 176.0 (80.0 kg) |
2 Jan 2025 – Day 1 | 235.5 (106.8 kg) |
31 Jan 2025 – Month 1 | 209.4 (95.0 kg) |
6 Feb 2025 – Week 5 | 204.4 (92.7 kg) |
13 Feb 2025 – Week 6 | 205.0 (93.0 kg) |
20 Feb 2025 – Week 7 | 202.2 (91.7 kg) |
21 Feb 2025 | 203.1 (92.1 kg) |
22 Feb 2025 | 202.6 (91.9 kg) |
Report: I lost 0.5 lbs (0.2 kg) today.
Total Loss: 32.9 lbs (14.9 kg) in 51 days.
Average Loss Per Day: 0.65 lbs (0.29 kg).
I was pleasantly surprised to see I lost 0.5 lbs (0.2 kg) today even after eating a lot of carbs yesterday. In the past, breaking the diet would have led to a rapid gain, but it seems my body is handling the carbs better than before.
This makes me feel like my body is beginning to adapt, returning to a place where it can maintain its weight even when I indulge a bit. This is definitely a step in the right direction, and I’ll take it!
Blood Pressure (BP)
Date | BP – Before Food (Best of 3) | BP – Before Food (Worst of 3) | Average |

6 Feb 25 – Week 5 | 124.5/78.5 | 153/100 | 148/96 |
13 Feb 25 – Week 6 | 121/81 | 138/75 | 129.5/78 |
20 Feb 25 – Week 7 | 137/90 | 148/93 | 143.5/91.5 |
21 Feb 2025 | 148/89 | 158/93 | 153/91 |
22 Feb 2025 | 138/92 | 139/94 | 138.5/93 |
Report: My blood pressure is down and up today.
My systolic blood pressure (the first number) decreased by 15.5.
My diastolic blood pressure (the second number) is up by 2.
Another pleasant surprise today—my systolic blood pressure decreased by 15.5, moving closer to my target range. My diastolic is up slightly, but overall, my blood pressure is moving in the right direction, and I’m hopeful that it’ll continue to improve.
Blood Glucose
Date | Blood Glucose – Before Food (mmol/L) |
Blood Glucose Goal | 4.2 |

31 Jan 2025 – Month 1 | 4.4 |
6 Feb 2025 – Week 5 | 4.7 |
13 Feb 2025 – Week 6 | 5.1 |
20 Feb 2025 – Week 7 | 4.9 |
21 Feb 2025 | 4.7 |
22 Feb 2025 | 6.0 |
Report: My blood glucose went up by 1.3.
Days within the normal range (3.9–5.6 mmol/L): 47 days out of 51 days.
Based on past experience, I expect this to stay in the pre-diabetic range until I get back to my Carnivore + OMAD (One Meal A Day) diet.
The important thing is that I now understand how to control this: by simply cutting out the carbs. This knowledge feels empowering because I know that I’m in charge of my body’s response to what I eat, and that’s exactly how I want it to be.
Reflecting on My Choices Today
Well, today I really went all out and broke the diet. I ate over the course of 10 hours—plenty of carbs, but not much sugar.
I think the key now is to convince my body that I’m off the diet, and when it starts putting on weight again, I’ll go straight back to my Carnivore + OMAD routine.
It’s surprising, though—I’ve broken the diet more today than I have in the past, but I haven’t experienced the severe symptoms I used to, like aching muscles or extreme fatigue.
Sure, my motivation has dropped a little, and writing for my blog hasn’t been as effortless as it was when I was fully on the diet. My mood is still positive, though—not as joyful as before.
I’m discovering a lot about myself on this journey. It’s amazing how much control we can take over our health and well-being through disciplined choices, and how those decisions lead to real, positive changes. As always, I’m here to share the highs, the lows, and everything in between.
See you tomorrow! 😊
Warmly,
Paul
