Day Eight: OMAD Plus Carnivore – A Winning Combination

Today brought another step forward on my Carnivore Diet journey. After combining OMAD (One Meal a Day) and the Carnivore Diet, the results matched what I was hoping for.

I’m down another 1.6 lbs (0.7 kg), bringing my total weight loss to 10.9 lbs (4.9 kg) in just a week!

While the first week often includes a lot of water weight, I’m thrilled with the progress.

Report: A satisfying drop of 1.6 lbs (0.7 kg) today!

Today, I experimented with shortening my eating window from the usual 8 hours to just 3 hours. With my appetite now barely noticeable, it’s surprisingly easy to skip meals or combine them into one meal. I also kept my salt intake strictly within meal times.

Systolic blood pressure

The first number, which measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats, is better than day 1.

Diastolic blood pressure

The second number, which measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart rests between beats, is also better than Day 1.

I’m learning to view this as a process that takes time. As long as my weight continues to drop, I’m optimistic my blood pressure will follow suit.

Report: Blood glucose is now at its lowest yet—4.6 mmol/L!

I’ve officially settled into the normal range (3.9 to 5.6 mmol/L), and I expect it to stay steady. My goal is to see my fasting glucose settle closer to 4.2, and I feel confident I’ll get there.

Traveling While Sticking to the Diet

I’m gearing up for a 1,000+ mile (1,600+ km) road trip over the next two days.

While traveling, sticking to the Carnivore Diet will be a test of discipline, but I’ve planned ahead. My trusty scale is coming with me, though it might be hard to find time to weigh in and write updates.

Today was all about packing and tying up loose ends. As I sit here nearing midnight, I feel both tired and accomplished.

This First Week

The first week has been a whirlwind of progress, lessons, and adjustments. Being flexible is important, and small changes can make a big difference. As I hit the road tomorrow, I’m eager to see how this next chapter unfolds.

See you tomorrow with another update! 😊

Warmly,
Paul
