It’s funny how habits sneak up on you. Yesterday, while putting something in the fridge, I caught myself thinking about having a little nibble —protein, of course. But then I reminded myself, “Your eating window is closed for the day.”
That moment made me realize how much progress I’ve made in controlling my food addiction. Setting a defined eating window has been one of the most effective strategies for me. It’s a simple rule, but it works wonders for keeping my impulses in check.
I still judge my progress by my results of course. Being obese again after reaching “just overweight” last year, shows me I’ve got more work to do. I’m not yet someone who can fully trust themselves around food. It’s a work-in-progress, but I’m determined to stick with it.
One thing I’ve learned is that having rules keeps me honest.
But let’s face it—no one likes being told what to do, even by themselves! It’s a love/hate relationship with my rules for sure.

That brings my total to 8.6 lbs (3.9 kg) in five days.
Yesterday’s six-hour eating window didn’t work as well as it did the day before, so today, I switched things up. I went with OMAD (One Meal A Day) alongside the Carnivore Diet.
Let’s see if that speeds up my weight loss tomorrow.

Systolic blood pressure
The first number, which measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats, is 8.5 points higher than on Day 1.
Diastolic blood pressure
The second number, which measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart rests between beats, is 3 points higher than on Day 1.
I thought the Carnivore Diet would improve my blood pressure, but so far, it hasn’t.
If the average hits 170 or above, or the worst reading exceeds 179, I’ll start taking medication. Everyone’s comfort level is different; my rules reflect what I’m okay with. Make sure to follow what works best for you and consult with your healthcare provider.

Report: Blood glucose is slightly higher than yesterday but still in the normal range (3.9 to 5.6 mmol/L).
From past experience, I know my glucose will stay in this range as long as I stick with the Carnivore Diet. This time, I plan to stay in the normal range for months to see if it can reverse my insulin resistance. Only time will tell, but I’m hopeful.

Rule #7
If my daily weight loss drops below 1 lb, I add OMAD (One Meal A Day) to my Carnivore Diet for that day.
Why?
Eating for less time gives my body more time to process and eliminate waste, which usually helps me lose more weight.
Rule #8
If my long-term average weight loss drops below 1 lb per day, I switch to NoMAD (No Meals A Day) until it recovers.
Why?
NoMAD (water fasting) is a game-changer for me. It’s not for everyone, but the benefits are undeniable. I’ll share more about it in a future post.

This quote has become a mantra for me. Seven days ago, starting this blog felt terrifying. I didn’t know how to use WordPress, create images, or much of anything I now know.
But here I am, six days into documenting my journey, and it’s one of the most exciting things I’ve done in years.
