Round 2, Day 56 – Weight Loss Alone Isn’t the Whole Story: The Big Six Health Influencers

😴 Woke Up Tired, Still Showed Up Though

This morning, my body felt heavy. My brain? Fuzzy. But just like yesterday—and every day before—I showed up. Once I got moving, the gears clicked back into place. That’s the thing about real health. It’s not about feeling perfect. It’s about not giving up.

This tired morning reminded me of something I keep learning: there are six non-negotiables for true health. Here’s how I rank them—at least for me:

  1. Air 🌬
  2. Water 💧
  3. Sleep 💤
  4. Exercise 🏃‍♂️
  5. Sunlight ☀️
  6. Food 🍽

That list might look different for you. That’s the beauty of it—you’re the only expert on your own body. But once you figure out the right answers to the big questions—what, when, where, why, with whom, and how—you’ll see results that feel like magic.

Let’s dive into today’s numbers. 👇

🍝 Last night, I had dinner with my son—and yes, carbs were involved, but not a lot of sugar. So, this small rise this morning? I’ll take it as a win. Connection matters much more than numbers. It’s the why behind what I do, to last longer and better with the ones I love.

Taking my meds with dinner last night made a big difference. But here’s what surprised me: I used to think weight loss was the key driver of blood pressure. Turns out, it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

Now, I believe the full combo—air, water, sleep, exercise, sunlight, and food—is what moves this particular dial.

My glucose stayed just above the target today. Nothing wild. Nothing worrisome. It feels like my body has found its rhythm. But that rhythm, even when “stable,” might not be ideal. And stability is not the same as thriving.

So now I ask: what does my body need next?

🧠 Final Thoughts from the Lab of Me

Health isn’t static. And it’s not solved in a day. It’s a puzzle, a formula, a dance. Today I danced tired. But I still danced.

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” —Robert Collier

That’s what this is. A small effort. A choice. A meal. A walk. A logbook entry. A nap.

Do it all again tomorrow. That’s where the win lives.

See You Tomorrow, my friend! 😊

Warmly,
Paul
