Round 2, Day 73 – Strong Start to the Final Fast

Today marks the beginning of a three-day NoMAD fast (No Meals A Day). What a fitting way to round off more than two months of personal trials, wins, and real progress.

Now, I’ve done a 12-day fast before, so one day without eating isn’t going to rattle me. In fact, it feels easier now than it ever has. Why? Because I’ve learned something simple: wanting the opposite of what I chose is silly—especially at the start. When I know what I’m doing and why I’m doing it, my body and mind tend to get in line. 💡

But near the end? That’s when the trouble sneaks in.
That’s when the voice of the old me starts whispering:
“Just have a bite.” “You’ve earned it.” “Start over tomorrow.”

If I give those voices any attention, they don’t whisper for long. They scream. Beg. Bargain.

But I’ve also learned that if I just stay calm, look straight at the finish line, and keep walking, the voices fade. And when I reach that line, the prize is great—but the strength I’ve built along the way? That’s worth even more.

Yes, that’s a big jump.
Much bigger than I expected. But the number doesn’t scare me. What I do about it—that’s what counts. This 3-day NoMAD phase is my reset. Let’s see what the next 72 hours bring.

Three small pills. One big shift.
And the best part? I probably won’t need another for nearly a week. My body’s learning balance. With a lot of help from me and a little from the meds.

This spike isn’t nearly as bad as last time I stepped off the path. That’s progress. It tells me my body is adjusting. It wants to stay in this better place.

🧠 Reflection: Discipline Is a Muscle

I definitely seem to want to keep making myself practice discipline, but only after losing any discipline I did have! So time to…
Reset. Refocus. Reclaim the gains.
Because nothing’s lost until you give up. And I’m not giving up.

😊 See You Tomorrow, My Friend

Still aiming forward. Still showing up. Still grateful to be me.

Warmly,
Paul

Helping people is what lights me up. I’m a curious soul who loves diving into new ideas, uncovering hidden gems of knowledge and sharing what I find. Sometimes, my scientific side takes over, and I overthink things. But I’ve got a creative streak too. There’s an artist in me who loves to dream big and imagine the possibilities. But at my core, if I had to use one word to describe myself—it would be Engineer. I like to build things—whether it’s ideas, solutions, or meaningful connections. So let’s explore, learn, and grow together. I promise to keep it real, keep it fun, and always keep it supportive.
